I promise you all , I didn’t go looking for trouble.
Trouble (a task) came looking for me.
So here’s what happened:
Sometime last week, my LinkedIn got hacked. Thankfully, I was able to retrieve it the same day. But then LinkedIn restricted my account until I uploaded my international passport — and even after that, it took a whole day before it was finally unlocked.
Spending a whole day without checking LinkedIn? It felt… strange. 😅
Now to the main gist.
When I got my account back, I made a post to inform my connections about the hack. Not long after, someone reached out to invite me to join his dev team to work on their mobile app. I was excited, he works at my organization, just in a different country, so I trusted him.
We scheduled meetings with his local team, and I got onboarded.
Guess what?
They don’t use Flutter.
They don’t use React Native.
They use... PowerApps.
I’ve downloaded and used a few PowerApps-based apps in the past, but I never realized they were built using Canvas Apps on PowerApps!
And now, despite my tight schedule (my boss must never see this letter or he’ll break my head 😭), I’m so curious to learn how it works.
Am I going to decline this opportunity?
Absolutely not.
Will I push myself to learn this tool and build with the team?
You bet I will.
I’ve binge-watched some tutorials, but I’m still not fully getting it. Microsoft has a training manual, and that’s what I’m currently using to learn.
From what I’ve gathered so far, PowerApps is supposed to be a low-code/no-code platform.
But honestly… it doesn’t feel that way. 😂
We’ll see.
So if anyone has helpful manuals or video resources on PowerApps, please send them my way!
When I finally figure this tool out, best believe I’ll come back to testify. 😄
That’s all for now.
With love,
Deborah
Congratulations on your new role. Sorry about the hack
